The safety and well-being of our runners, volunteers, spectators and community is always a top priority. Surf the Murph will be hosted as a live event with modifications to comply with guidelines of Governor Walz’s Executive Order 20-38 Allowing for Safe Outdoor Recreation, and in accordance with the guidelines developed by the Minnesota Department of Health and Three Rivers Park District. Each race will be limited to 25 runners and will follow the adjusted timeline below. Runners that have already registered now have the opportunity to keep their spot or receive a full refund.

10/23 – Marathon 7 am start - 25K 1 pm start
10/24 – 50 Mile 6 am start
10/25 – 50K 7 am start

  • There will be no in-person registration or packet pick-up, your race packet and bib will be mailed to you.
  • All participants must wear a mask at the start and finish location. However, it is not necessary to wear a mask during the race.
  • All races are self-supported by the runners themselves; no aid stations will be set up along the course. Please plan to carry your own hydration and fuel, if needed. You are welcome to leave a drop bag at the start/finish and Horse Camp.
  • Runners should arrive at the start location no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled start time. Runners at that time can expect to take a position on a chalk marking on the ground that provides distancing between participants within the start area.
  • Runners must immediately leave the finish area after completing the course, so everyone can maintain safe distancing.
  • Spectators and family are asked to stay home and away from the event, especially near the start/finish areas.
  • Please stay home if you are sick.
